511 Ontario - Notice of Highway 11 Closure

Please be advised that the Ontario Northland Railway will be replacing an 80-foot section of rail that crosses Highway 11 near Porquis Junction, requiring a full MTO closure of Highway 11 between Highway 67 (Iroquois Falls) and Municipal Road. Work is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 and will continue overnight until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2 (including asphalt work).
Local traffic will still be able to access town via Monteith Road, Hwy 67, and Jacobs Hill Road. MTO will have a formal detour route redirecting traffic via Highway 655 and Highway 101 through Timmins.
